Does Woodedtech WPC decking need ventilation and Drainage?
Yes, like timber, it is important to provide adequate ventilation to ensure Woodedtech WPC decking is able to dry out after being wet. For this reason it is very important to pay attention to clearance on butt joins (end to end), spacing between boards (side by side), and minimum ground clearances.
The foundation below the deck needs to be drained in advance to avoid water accumulation caused by rain or low-lying terrain.
If there is water accumulation under the deck, it will form one side of the deck with air and the other side with water. This will result in a significant difference in temperature and humidity between the two sides of the deck, which can easily cause problems such as bending and expansion of the deck
Lack of ventilation can cause the product to swell over time. Check product fixing instructions for information on ventilation requirements. Boxing in the deck will reduce cross flow ventilation and therefore should be avoided.
